These Rewards Program Terms and Conditions (“Rewards Terms”) describe how you earn and redeem rewards (“Points” or “Rewards”) when you use your Vera World Mastercard® (“Card”) and your related Credit Account (“Account”). The Card is issued by Cottonwood Payments, a division of FinWise Bank, Member FDIC (“Cottonwood Payments”). The Rewards Program is offered and administered by Vera, Inc. (“Vera”), the Cottonwood Payment’s authorized program manager and servicer for the Card.
Vera is not a bank, does not extend credit, and does not make decisions regarding your eligibility for credit; all credit decisions and credit underwriting for the Card and Account are made solely by Cottonwood Payments.
These Rewards Terms are incorporated into and form part of your Cardholder Agreement (“Agreement”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Agreement.
Any dispute relating to the Rewards Program is subject to the Arbitration Agreement in your Cardholder Agreement, which is incorporated by reference and exclusively governs all dispute resolution. This includes disputes relating to the earning, posting, valuation, forfeiture, or redemption of Points.
By using your Card or Account, you agree to these Rewards Terms.
Overview of the Rewards Program
The Rewards Program allows you to earn Points based on:
- Eligible purchases (as defined in the section “Earning Points” below) made with your Card, and
- Payments you make toward your Account balance.
Points may be redeemed for rewards described below. Points have no cash value unless and until redeemed in accordance with these Rewards Terms.
Rewards Modes
You may choose one of three available rewards earning modes (each, a "Rewards Mode"). Only one Rewards Mode may be active on your Account at a time. You may change your Rewards Mode at any time; however, changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Mode selection and changes must be made through the Vera app or website.
Each Rewards Mode provides different earning rates for eligible purchases and may provide different earning rates for eligible payments (as defined in the section “Earning Points” below). The earning rates, eligible transaction types, merchant categories, and any applicable definitions for each Rewards Mode are described in the Vera Rewards Schedule, which is incorporated into these Rewards Terms by reference. Vera may update the Rewards Schedule from time to time in accordance with the “Changes to the Rewards Program” section below.
The three Rewards Modes currently available are:
- Omni Mode – Earn Points on Eligible Purchases and Eligible Payments at the standard earning rates described in the Rewards Schedule.
- Nova Mode – Earn higher Points on Eligible Purchases made using a qualifying digital wallet, and lower earning rates on all other Eligible Purchases, as described in the Rewards Schedule.
- Vita Mode – Earn higher Points on Eligible Purchases in the merchant category designated by Vera for the applicable quarter, and lower earning rates on all other Eligible Purchases, as described in the Rewards Schedule. The elevated category in Vita Mode rotates periodically (currently once per calendar quarter) and is selected solely by Vera. Customers cannot select or change the elevated category. The designated category for each quarter will be disclosed in the Vera app and at https://www.vera.credit.
Eligible merchant categories, qualifying digital wallets, and transaction eligibility for each Rewards Mode are determined by Vera in its reasonable discretion and may be updated from time to time. Merchant Category Codes (“MCCs”) are assigned by Mastercard and the merchant’s payment processor, and neither Vera nor the Cottonwood controls how a merchant or transaction is classified.
